Ginger and Valerie's Puppies
Valerie was so matted and terrified when she first came in that no one knew she was pregnant until we had her groomed. She was just about ready to have them. When she did have them she was not healthy enough to care for them and needed surgery right away.
That was on a Monday and the prior Monday we had pulled another mother dog with one puppy about three weeks old. As a last resort we took Ginger (the other mom) to the pups to see if she would accept them. She took one look and accepted all five newborns.
We named her biological puppy Hoss (because he was so much bigger)! Valerie has recovered and moved on to a new home. Here are some of the pups now!
